Let me start out by saying I WOULD do it again and I have a few reasons why but I also want to share my care tips and just how I managed my hair and how the process went. So I dyed my hair a year ago and I did it myself and no I'm not a hair stylist by any means but I did a lot of research and watched a lot of tutorials before I did. I loved the results and the color.
WHY I DYED IT?
I mostly dyed my hair because I just wanted to! I watched so many video of different colored hair (mostly brown/red looks). I really wanted to try and I kept putting it off until I woke up went to Sally's Beauty Supply and did it. That's how life works sometimes you just get up and do it.
FIND TUTORIALS AND BE CAUTIOUS
I watched countless tutorials and I even looked through every color that would work with my hair type and texture. I feel like that was the most important part. Sometimes what works for straight hair it may not work for curly hair so find tutorials of women with your hair type, length, texture etc. Also if your not sure ask a professional.
MISTAKES
When I first dyed my hair it was very orange/red. I like it but I needed to tone it down so I went to the store and bought some brown to tone it down and It worked for me. I know a lot of people so don't dye your hair twice in one night but I literally just added the brown and it worked for me.
COLOR AND BRAND
I used Excellence by L'Oreal
Sizzling Copper Permanent Creme Hair Color
CARE | MAINTENANCE
I really cared for my hair. I kept if conditioned and I also did a lot of oil treatments. So I never had a problem with my hair falling out or any thing like that. I also was taking prenatal vitamins at the time so I'm sure that helped keep my hair strong and healthy.
