 I know we all may have some bad habits that we may be trying to break but lets talk about swapping out those bad habits for some good and positive/productive ones. If you have a habit of snacking try snacking on something healthy. You still get the satisfaction of snacking but more healthy then chips and sugary items. 


I want to give you 9 steps or ways you can start swapping those bad unhealthy habits for good ones. Its not always about the habits but the process.


1. START TODAY
The best way to break a bad habit is to just do it. Even if you did the bad habit this morning continue the rest of the day and really try to not do it. Sometimes distracting ourselves with other things we enjoy helps. 

2.DO IT EVEN WHEN YOU DONT WANT TO
Lets face the truth, somedays we just don't want to do something and that's okay it happens. But power through those days. Just keep remembering what your doing it for. 
 
3.FIGURE OUT THE WHY
Getting to the root of any problem or habit is always a good start to break a bad habit. Maybe its just easier or  something stemming from something else. 

4.MAKE A CONSCIOUS EFFORT
Keeping your productive habits in the fore front of your mind always is a must. You have to make an effort to make a change. You have to put in the work.


5.SET A REMINDER
Maybe setting a reminder on your phone every hour or few hours with reminding you to stay on track with breaking your habit. Maybe if you a smoker, set a reminder during your break times or randomly throughout the day.

6.SET GOALS
Set a realistic goal of where you want to be in the next few weeks or months. And really strive to reach that goal. 


7.ONE HABIT AT A TIME
Don't bombard your mind with to much at a time. Take your time and work on one habit at a time. That way all of your focus and energy is really going towards that one thing. 


8.REWARD
There is nothing wrong with giving yourself a reward for accomplishing something. Maybe after the first week or month. reward yourself with something you really want. 

9.PATIENCE 
Patience is key. We may want things over night. We can start over night but understand things take time, and if you have a hard day. pick up the piece tomorrow. Its not the end of the world.

With so many different avenues and so many ways life can pull us. We can sometimes get stuck in a place where "who are we". That's when we need to have a long sit down and be and stay true to who we are. There is absolutely nothing wrong with growing and figuring out who you are along the way. Really just searching and finding out who you truly are is the most important.

Because truth be told you are always changing and growing. Every day we learn new things so its literally impossible to be the same person, but there are morals and principals and things that we love and those things are us. 

If you really want to know who you are?

Pay attention to yourself. How do you respond in certain situations? How do you feel if you hurt someone? Are you a giver? Are you a helper? Pay attention to yourself and you will start noticing qualities about yourself you may have never really noticed. 

Hopefully this is a reminder for you. I get it, we all go through things but stay true to who you are, on the inside. Because the outside, the world, people will try and change your inside.

What would 14 days of self love be without another challenge and this one is exciting! This is a super fun and challenge for self love February. The goal is to come up with 52 reasons why you love yourself and write them down, roll them up and put it in a jar or a box. Every time you have doubt about who you are or you need a reminder. Pull out one of your 52 reasons you love yourself. Its a great way to bring positivity to yourself and also write out why you love yourself and the things you love and enjoy. 



With any journey or any self love journey you have to sit an identify things you love about yourself. It may be things others don't love about you, but hey its you so who cares. I remember often times as a child people would say you always want to be in pictures. And I come to find out I do. I love being in pictures and taking pictures and capturing memoires. That's a quality about me I love and accept about myself. 



WHY 52 REASONS?

Well there are 52 weeks in a year so every positive thing you love about yourself is one of those weeks. So in the end you will have a years worth of things you love about yourself.

A lot of us may have heard of a love language but if you have not the 5 languages is actually a book written by Gary chapman and he identifies that people have 5 ways they show and receive love, and by identifying these love languages we can in return have a better understanding our ourselves and our partners and our families. And ultimately have a better relationship. You may of even been asked "what's your love language ?" 

Finding out your love language is a great way to see 1. Identify how you show love? and 2. how you like to receive love. For 14 days of self love knowing your love language is a part of that. The more you know about yourself the more you can give those love languages to your own self. If you enjoy gifts, buy yourself some gifts. If you enjoy enjoy acts of service do acts of service for yourself. If you enjoy words of affirmation give those words to yourself.  The same way you would want someone to give you those things DO IT FOR YOURSELF. Sometimes we are always expecting others to do what we love for us when we can do it for ourselves. I love valentines day just as much as the next person. Giving small gifts to that special someone is always exciting and you just love to make someone smile. I Have to start by saying protect yourself. Protect your mind, your body, your soul, your heart. protect you! Honestly the last thing you want is for someone to come and try to steal or take your joy or your blessings away from you. we are on this journey of life and unfortunately not everyone has your best interest at heart so we as individuals have to make sure we are protecting ourselves and the blessing that could be coming our way. But if we are distracted with being sad or angry or not being joyful in the moment when something good has happened that's a disservice to ourselves. 
 I have been on this earth for 28 years and your joy and your peace are everything. When you wake up in the morning and you are joyful that is a wonderful feeling and its a feeling that you should never allow anyone to take away from you.

We have to remember when it comes to others they could have there own problems or maybe they just don't want to see you happy and joyous but it is up to us to remember that we deserve to have joy and to not allow anyone to take that away.

Here are 7 ways that I keep and protect my joy in life.

1. SAY NO

Umm there is nothing wrong with simply saying no. If you don't want to do something just say no. your not obligated to say yes or to be on someone else's time. do things in your time and Gods time and if it doesn't feel right or it doesn't bring you joy so no!

2. CUT OUT THE NEGATIVITY

Man this is a BIG ONE! Cut out the negativity in your life. If you have negative family or friends or gf, bf cut them off as quickly as possible. There's really is no reason to keep things or people ion your life that aren't going to uplift you and bring you to your best self. So if you are working a job and the environment is negative,  get pout of there because I strongly think that you are what you keep around you. so if your around sad, negative people that becomes your reality.

3. DO THE THINGS YOU ENJOY NO MATTER WHAT SOMEONES OPINION IS

Living for others with never bring you joy, you will constantly be thinking what will they think. And the hard truth is people are going to think whatever they want to think. you could be successful and doing the things you love and someone will have an opinion about that you could not be following your dreams and sitting at a desk all day and people will have an opinion about that. so the best thing you can do for yourself is do what makes you happy, do the things you love. this is your life and your journey

4. MEDITATION

A really simple way to keep your joy is meditation. spend a few minutes a day by yourself focusing on the positives in your life. light a candle turn on some soft meditation music and just zone out. you will start to feel so much better and lighter.

5.PRAY

Pray is to each there own but it does help. talking to god or the universe about your problems or your day. or just asking for whatever it is your want or need helps clear your mind and pout you on a better path. it can be a quick 1 min prayer while your on your lunch break.

6. SMILE OFTEN

I've always been a person that smiles a lot. It completely transforms my mood when I'm smiling. it just makes my soul feel good. also laughing. if your ever in a bad mood put on some funny video on Youtube and watch your mood change. laughter and smiling are like the key to the soul. 

7. WORRY LESS

I know this is a hard one. but just try not to worry so much. don't sweat the small stuff and don't let little things get under your skin. 












BUILD YOUR CONFIDENCE | INSECURITIES | 14 DAYS OF SELF LOVE

Todays focus is building self confidence and working through our insecurities. Self confidence is one of those things that can come and go. You can be absolutely confident one day and the next slightly doubt yourself. well that ends today. I've noticed a lot of times our confidence and insecurities go hand and hand. For me I use to be very self conscious about my teeth I always smiled but there was still a feeling of confidence I didn't have. Then I got braces and that all changed lol so I've seen it first hand how something so small can have an impact on our confidence. I have a few suggestions and tips to build our self confidence and work through our insecurities. 

Noticed I said work through our insecurities because often times our insecurities our things we cant change we just have to learn to love them and work through them. 

+REMIND YOURSELF YOU ARE GOOD ENOUGH
A constant reminder to yourself should be you are good enough and you deserve the world. Don't allow negative thoughts float into your mind. When you allow any negatives thoughts they start over powering you and you start to believe them. so keep a constant reminder you are good enough. And when the negative thoughts creep in go workout or dance or do something that makes you happy. distract yourself by doing something positive.

+REPLACE THE WORD CAN'T WITH CAN
The word can't is always the easiest way to not do something. I can't find a job or I can't loose weight. No! You CAN. You can literally do anything that you put energy into. It may take time and dedication. But putting in work everyday you will see results. Keep pushing and use the word CAN. Tell yourself everyday I can loose weight and then make steps or strides everyday towards what you want.

+GIVE THANKS AND COMPLIMENTS TO YOURSELF
The same way we may compliment our friends and family or even when we write comments on Instagram under someone's post saying your gorgeous!, beautiful etc. That same things applies to you. Compliment yourself. When you wake of say "girl your skin is popping" or "your glowing" When we speak highly and positively of ourselves that's what we attract. 


+HOW CAN YOU MAKE YOURSELF HAPPY
Make a list of things that make you happy or things you want to try and do those things. When we start reaching our accomplishments it builds that confidence in us. You want to go hang gliding DO IT! You will feel 10x much better after you've done it and you feel that sense of accomplishment.

+WORK ON YOUR INSECURITIES
As we know some insecurities are things we can't fix. They are things we must embrace and love about ourselves. If you have a gap, or freckles, or dimples or glasses. Those might be things you can fix but they might not be. Sometimes the goals is to not fix it but learn to love it. Then later on down the line you may fix it. But learning to live and love you is always the most important. 

Now if you have insecurities you can fix. Fix Them! Loose the weight, get clear skin, get braces. If it is something you would like to change, do it for yourself so that you can have more confidence and be able to live a more happy and fulfilling life. 



+JUST REMEMBER TO BE YOURSELF
You don't want to waste years of your life not doing something because your insecure or not confident. You will look back and be unhappy you didn't at least try so in conclusion just be yourself, do the things you love and have fun in life. don't let these ideas in our heads stop you!

With February here and a lot of talk about love, I wanted to shine a light and focus on self love. We are always taught and talking about love for others and love for our family, friends, spouse but what about us. We deserve to love and appreciate ourselves, because In all honesty no one is going to love and care for us like ourselves. So during the month of February, well for the first 14 days I want to talk about self love, self confidence, and simply falling back in love with ourselves or just loving our selves in general. Before we can love anyone else we must love ourselves and that Is a very true statement. I will be posting a post every day for the first 14 days geared towards self love and fun challenges we can do. 


Today I want to ask you, what is self love to you? 

To me self love is looking in the mirror at yourself and saying I love you and meaning it and taking those steps to show yourself you love you and knowing that you deserve it. A huge part of self love is knowing who you are, the things you like, your morals, your standards, your values. Its having an understanding of who you are and loving every bit of it.

I've seen a lot of times women feeling so undeserving of love from themselves, criticizing their hair, or skin or personality. Look! we are born into theses bodies and we have to love every part and inch of it. The outside world and people with hate in their heart will try and tear your love for yourself down and make you feel underserving of it. But that is never ever the case.

CHALLENGE

--> For this months challenge or whenever you are reading this I want you ( I will also be doing this also) to shine light on yourself, when you wake up in the morning tell yourself your beautiful, compliment your outfit, take off your makeup and look at your face, talk to yourself about the things you love and the things you enjoy doing. This month is all about you and embracing your self.
